Even though this app is made for Canadian fixed and rotary wing pilots, it can definitely help a remotely piloted aircraft (VLOS) owner to study for the sRPAS. Drone pilots will need additional info about rules for unmanned aircraft systems not covered in the PSTAR app.

The app allows you to go through each section separately and answer question by question. You will be able to see the correct answer right away and don´t have to wait until the end to see the final score. We think that way you will learn much quicker. Once you feel competent you can start trying some of the exams. When you score consistently more than 90% you should be well prepared for the real exam!

This is also an excellent tool to study Air Law for your PPL and CPL written exams.

Before a student pilot in Canada can go for his/her first solo flight, the Transport Canada PSTAR (Pre-Solo Test about Air Regulations) exam has to be completed. It is an exam about Air Regulation. This app has all 189 questions in the database which are taken from the official Transport Canada Study Guide, TP11919. The PSTAR app will be updated on a regular basis to ensure the most current questions.

The PSTAR exam you will take at your Flight School consists of 50 questions taken from the pool of these 189. If you study with this app a couple evenings a week you should have no problem to score a good grade. The minimum pass rate is 90%. Use your time more efficiently and study for your PSTAR exam on the go and pass with ease.

Good luck on your PSTAR exam and many happy landings!

Pros and cons of PSTAR Plus - Transport Canada app for iPhone and iPad

PSTAR Plus - Transport Canada app good for

Definitely makes studying for the PSTAR easier and allows one to identify areas of weakness. It will take discipline to ensure one doesnt simply memorize answers but goes back to the AIM or CFS to understand the answers. Great tool and great help! Thanks!
This is the app to pass the test !!! Graphics - cool GUI - cool Usability - perfect I would recommend it for everybody !
I used this app for couple hours, then went writing the exam and passed at the first attempt! easy to navigate through, first page summarizes your score in the different sections covered. Worth it!
This app is well done. I wish I had it when I was studying for my PSTAR. It is also a good rust remover for licensed pilots like myself.
An app for new students and a great refresher for anyone! Highly recommend this to everyone.
Excellent app! As a flight instructor i want my students to feel fully prepared for any flight or a written exam. This app makes it possible! With Transport Canada help, this is theee best, and theee recommended ONLY APP to prepare for the TC PSTAR pre-solo exam! Well thought, well made, and well delivered! 110%!!

Some bad moments

This is a paid product yet some advertised features are not available unless you spam your friends by LIKEing the app on FaceBook. Not cool.
This app does not have the depth to justify the price. There are similar (and more extensive) practise tests found online. The app is easy to use (it is a very simple app) but would be a better learning tool if it provided the reference or regs when you make a wrong answer. This is monkey learning, not a learning resource that helps the student understand the why of right and wrong answers.
